At Rest

Less-than-lethal force
The medical examiner determined that Sterling died of a combination of pepper spray, a fight with police trying to detain him, and a sickle-cell condition he wasn't aware of. He'd run from a traffic stop. Accounts of police and responding firefighters differed to the point where four firefighters were terminated. Sterling's father accepted a half-million dollar settlement from the city but later killed himself over the incident.
This record exists so that Raymond Sterling Jr., and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
