Deadly force

Two officers approached Gonzalez in connection with a minor traffic incident, and found him "nervous and evasive". The situation developed into a physical struggle with the victim, who was then pepper-sprayed without effect. Gonzalez pulled a pistol and wounded one officer in the legs. He was then shot at least four times, fatally. A city official normally critical of police happened to be an eyewitness on scene and confirmed the officers' actions as justified
