Officer ran a red light while not on his way to an incident, struck the other, a Jeep Wrangler, that the victim was riding in the back seat of. The victim was thrown from the other and succumb to injuries 2 days later. The office plead guilty to running a red light, paid a $100 fine and resigned. The city of Durham paid $350,000 as part of a $1.75 million civil settlement.
