Shortly before midnight Friday night local police discovered Flannery burglarizing a grocery and clothing store. Flannery bolted, drawing the police into a high-speed chase, but his car soon left the road and slammed full-speed broadside into a utility pole. He was thrown from his demolished sedan and fatally wounded.
