Vehic/Purs
Deputies John Gunsell and Andrew Nobliski were in their patrol car at around 3:13 a.m. responding to a non-emergency call to assist at an accident scene. Nobliski, who was driving, lost control on a curve and rolled the car. Gunsel was ejected and died at a hospital. Accident reconstruction reports indicated higher-than-normal speed, road conditions, road design and the fact Gunsell was not wearing a seat belt, contributed in equal part to his death. In April 2005, it was reported that Sheriff Jim McBride would ask Nobliski to resign, though the Michigan attorney general had not yet determined whether to charge Nobliski in the crash.
This record exists so that John Gunsell, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
