A South Side crash in which Larry Mitchum Jr. was killed reportedly prompted an investigation to determine whether a police chase was involved. Police said they received conflicting reports from witnesses about the three-car accident. Some witnesses reported a police chase was involved in the 8 p.m. crash while others said they saw no squad car near the accident scene.
