Driving a stolen car, Nohar was detained at a traffic stop shortly after one a.m. but fled. NYPD, citing regulations that prohibit them from high-speed pursuits, stated that they followed at regular speeds and lost sight of the other. Shortly afterward the other crashed into the loading dock of a factory. Nohar was killed, and his passenger seriously injured.
