Deputy Todd Trobaugh stopped a other driven by Orlyn D. Ervin for speeding at about 5:30 a.m. According to police, Ervin became unresponsive, and Trobaugh summoned assistance. Trobaugh reportedly recognized that Ervin was in cardiac arrest and initiated CPR. Deputies Dave Benson and Kent Roepke arrived and assisted with performing the resuscitation, but Ervin was pronounced dead at a hospital.
