James H. Temple shot and killed a Franklin Parish sheriff's deputy, then was shot and killed by deputies who had been called because a crop-duster said the man had shot at his airplane. Temple shot at four deputies when they told him to put down his weapons, killing Sgt. Regelio "Roy" Gonzales, 47, and grazing Sgt. Brian Linder, police said.
