Officers Albert Villareal and Jesus Cruz responded to complaints that Limon was banging on doors of houses. The officers found Limon yelling and trying to kick in the door of a house. They arrested him. He resisted. They pepper-sprayed him and struck him with a baton. Limon died at Christus Spohn Medical Hospital. According to Nueces County Medical Examiner, the death was the result of cocaine-induced delirium. Limon's family sued, claiming that the officers should have known that Limon needed medical attention.
