Joseph Franklin Wear reportedly fled when an officer attempted to stop his 1990 Buick Regal on suspicion of impaired driving at around 12:50 a.m. The officer gave chase. Wear lost control of his other in an intersection, went off the road and rolled several times. He was ejected and died at the scene.
