John Gray and Rosie Vasser were killed when a teenager in an allegedly stolen Dodge Neon ran a red light and struck their Nissan Maxima. A third person in the Nissan was critically injured. According to police, an officer saw the Neon and discovered that it was on the "hot sheet" of stolen cars, but the driver sped away before he could act. Police contended that no chase was on at the time of the crash because they said the officer's conversation with a dispatcher on the police radio said there wasn't.
