First Johnson caused some kind of disturbance outside the Chatham County Courthouse in Pittsboro; he then brought out county deputies on a 40-mile chase at speeds up to 90 MPH. He wrecked his pickup just west of Asheboro and remained uncooperative after the crash. Tasered, he had trouble, lost consciousness, and died.
