A deputy tried to stop the other, a dark green 1997 Saturn, after the driver ran a red light, police said. The deputy turned on his lights and sirens. Castellano said the driver sped for about a minute before hitting a tree in the center of the median in the 400 block of Inverness Parkway on a curve. He was driving up to 80 miles per hour, police said. He died.
