Suicide

Garvin Huggins killed himself after he shot the mother of his 18-month-old son with a shotgun and barricaded himself in his residence with the boy. Huggins was found dead after police entered his residence, after failing to get a response from the suspect, but hearing the child continuously crying. Officers forced their way into the home, found the child and Huggins' body a short distance away. The boy was not harmed.
