A little after 4 a.m. agents were installing a tracking device on Mulato's Mercedes when he spotted them on a closed-circuit security camera. He emerged, angry, holding a 9mm to confront the plainclothes agents. They gut-shot him immediately before identifying themselves, struck an artery, and Mulato bled to death in the parking lot.
