Cottrell not only drove his car through Parley's Canyon recklessly to the point of seeming suicidal, he drove across the interstate median to navigate through it twice more, at high speeds and without regard to the police chasing him. His 30-minute ride ended when he fatally crashed into the back of a tanker truck carrying ethanol.
