Less-than-lethal force
Boston police stopped Woodman for holding a beer outside Fenway Park and detained him. During the arrest Woodman was handcuffed and deprived of oxygen for about 5 minutes. Eyewitnesses say police made no attempt to revive him, and lied to responding paramedics. Woodman died 11 days later. In June 2010 the family settled with the city for $3M.
