At Rest

Less-than-lethal force
Amaro died after being tasered three times by county deputies. Under the influence of both cocaine and alcohol, deputies found him walking in and out of traffic, foaming at the mouth and waving what was reported as a hammer--actually a squeegee. The Taser appeared to have no effect in calming him, then caused cardiac arrest.
This record exists so that José Aníbal Amaro, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
