State troopers in a high-speed pursuit of Andrades-Garcia reported that they followed him after reports of his erratic driving. In a friend's other, with no driver's license, at speeds of over 100 MPH and apparently fresh out of a state correctional institute on drug charges, Andrades-Garcia lost control of the car. He crashed, the car burst into flames, and he died at the scene.
