Julie Mae Wright-Allen was in a GMC Jimmy with her husband and two other people around 1:05 a.m. when the SUV collided with a police cruiser driven by officer Greg Bauer. The Jimmy flipped over, and Wright-Allen suffered fatal head injuries. According to police, Bauer, who was about to get on the freeway, had the right of way with a flashing yellow light. Bauer was reportedly going 44 mph in a 25 mph zone at the time of the crash. Wright-Allen's husband, Ronald Lee Allen, 39, was sentenced to eight years in prison after being convicted of operating a other with a suspended license causing death.
