Deadly force
Officers were responding to a call at a residence. When officers arrived, they were directed to a detached structure in the back of the house where they encountered Ornelas armed with a semi-automatic handgun. When Ornelas reached for his weapon, officers opened fire. Ornelas was struck in the upper torso.
