Less-than-lethal force
While attempting to arrest Rakestrau on drug charges, parish officers tasered him, and he died shortly afterward. The pathologist report attributed the death to bronchial asthma. In July 2013 his family settled a wrongful death suit with the parish for an undisclosed amount.
