A car chase ended when an officer shot Ernest Duenez multiple times. Duenez allegedly had a knife in his hand, but video did not appear to support this narrative. The officer claimed he thought Duenez was going for another weapon. The DA found Officer John Moody justified, but the family settled for $2.2 million for the wrongful death.
