Bellevue police said a pursuit started after James Sheard refused to pull over on his motorcycle for a traffic violation near 36th and Cornhusker. Speeds reached 90 mph and the pursuit was called off, according to police. Moments later a Sarpy County deputy came upon the scene of a crash involving Sheard's motorcycle and a pickup truck. Sheard died at the scene.
