Deadly force

Police said they were trying to control the crowd when one of the officers got into an altercation with Owens. Another officer opened fire, and Owens later died at a hospital. Pastor Demetra Sanderfer was not there the night of the shooting, but said she had known Owens for nearly four years and found it hard to believe he would be so violent.
