Kissane carjacked a burgundy minivan in the predawn hours and crashed it near Cypress Hills Cemetery. An off-duty NYPD officer saw him exit the other carrying a .22 and wearing a mask. The officer followed, Kissane turned and shot at him, the officer returned fire and killed him.
