Border Patrol agents stopped a minivan on U.S. 83. A man stepped out of the other and ran. Smuggler Junior Benjamin Rodriguez, 15, sped away and crashed in Palmview. Three women and six men died. One woman may have been pregnant. Seven more were injured. Rodriguez was convicted of nine counts of manslaughter. The dead are not named in English-language media.
