Shot while lying in bed in a rented home. A supposed gun in his hand turned out to be a cellphone, GBI said. A warrant had been issued for Truitt for hitting, killing a motorist on I-75 and not stopping. Officers fired 38 rounds, hit Truitt three times. Police had no search warrant for the house.
