Police intercepted McCarthy after her assault of her own 3-year-old, naked in an apartment parking lot and high on bath salts. She had a known history of drug use and police contact. Officers pepper-sprayed the violently combative McCarthy to no effect, then Tasered and handcuffed her. She went in cardiac arrest and died shortly thereafter.
