Reno Whitt Jr. fled from officers after they were called to an apartment complex to investigate car break-ins. Police said Whitt exceeded 90 mph before striking a utility pole, killing Ricky Nelson. Two other passengers were hurt. Whitt was convicted of second-degree murder.
