According to police, an officer tried to stop a Pontiac Grand Am for running a red light at 15 Mile and Mound Road in Sterling Heights at about 9 a.m. The officer reportedly followed the driver as he continued southbound into Warren at a high rate of speed, cut through a car dealership's parking lot, ran another red light and broadsided a Chevrolet Tahoe. The fleeing driver was crushed inside his car. The Tahoe's driver suffered serious injuries.
