Deadly force

Bank robber Webb had developed a technique of jumping the counter. In the third crime at the same branch he was thwarted, and dismayed, by a new bulletproof glass panel. His flight from police on local interstates at lunchtime tied up thousands of motorists. Police tried a PIT maneuver, which was partly successful; when Webb emerged from his wrecked other weapon in hand, he was shot dead.
