Kenneth Brown Jr. fell through the ice over a retention pond while running from police, and died early the next morning at a hospital. Officers Tim Atteberry and Doug Kimme had responded to a report of a disorderly person at McAlister's Deli at around 4 p.m. Police said Brown fled and ran about 50 feet onto the ice and stood there. The officers reportedly tried to tell him to come back, but the ice broke. Temperatures were reportedly about 20 degrees outside.
