Yolanda Thomas and Xavier Tyrell Johnson had just allegedly stolen from a drugstore and fled in a other, with Thomas driving, but she lost control of the car and crashed into a median barricade. Apparently unarmed Thomas tried to flee in the other once again, allegedly driving in the general direction of officers, which police interpreted as threatening, and both were shot to death.
