Officers attempted to stop a other for speeding. A high speed pursuit ensued. After Jonathan F. Vasquez drove into a vacant lot, he allegedly U-turned and drove in the general direction of the officers. The officers opened fire, fatally wounding the driver and injuring a passenger.
