Police attempted a traffic stop when they felt a other looked suspicious, and a chase ensued. After reportedly hitting a police car with his other and fleeing around San Jose, Aduddell got out of his disabled other and was shot and killed by Officers Ian Cooley and Adam Jenkins, who alleged his hands were on his waistband area and reported that they believed him to be armed with a firearm Police did not locate a weapon at the scene.
