The 61-year-old Spanish teacher Felix Coss was legally crossing the street in daylight when struck by a marked police van making a left turn. The driver was seen by witnesses to be on her cell phone. Coss's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the case that is still pending as of March 2021.
