Suicide
Deputies pulled Ralph Dexter Spruill over for DUI and told him that he was under arrest for violating probation. Spruill put a gun to his head and evaded the deputies, fleeing on foot. Multiple agencies pursued,. Several hours later, one deputy and a Texas Ranger were within sight of Spruill when he pointed his handgun at his head and pulled the trigger, killing himself.
