Spokane Police Officers responded to a possible road rage incident and encountered Danny Cecil Jones who fled in his truck to the Salvation Army housing where he and his family were staying. Police approached Jones as he drove toward the entrance to the complex and open fired on his truck when he didn't stop, killing Jones. Jones's family received a $103,000 wrongful death settlement from the city in 2018. No police officers were disciplined.
