Four undercover officers say they "had intelligence" that Dontre Bennett was about to commit a crime, spotted him, and chased him. They report that he fell after jumping a fence and during a struggle he tried to grab a handgun from his hip/belt buckle area. Multiple witnesses report that Bennett had only a cell phone, that he had his hands in the air after he was boxed in by the officers, and that they beat and shot him after they had apprehended him.
