An off-duty Portsmouth police officer fatally shot Courney Hollomon as the 30-year-old attempted to rob a bank in Virginia Beach with what appeared to be a black handgun. Hollomon allegedly pointed the gun at the off-duty police officer and the officer shot and killed Hollomon. The officer was cleared of any wrongdoing. Holloman had a replica handgun.
