Ferrell was in process of robbing an adult store when he encountered the responding officer outside on the sidewalk. The officer ordered him to the ground and tasered him twice when he did not comply. From the ground, Ferrell then pointed his gun at the officer and fired shots, at which point the officered shot and killed him.
