Thomas Ardd led police on a high speed chase that started in Meridian and ended in Clarke County. Police said Ardd refused to stop, lost control and hit a police other head on. He then got out of his other, pointed a gun at officers and refused to drop it before two officers opened fire. Ardd was pronounced dead at the scene.
