New Mexico State Police say an officer shot and killed a woman after a high speed chase because she backed up her other in his general direction. According to the latest police report, 39-year-old Jeanette Anaya fled from a state police officer as he attempted to pull her over in Santa Fe just after 1 a.m. State police said the chase reached speeds of 87 mph in a residential neighborhood. The officer bumped Anaya's other using a pursuit intervention technique and the chase ended near Camino Carlos Rey and Las Casitas. As the officer approached the other, state police said Anaya "aggressively" backed up toward the officer and struck the police car. Anaya's family later sued and was awarded $3 million dollars.
