Deadly force

Maiden or his family called 911 to report that he was suicidal at the home of his late father, who reportedly committed suicide during a SWAT standoff a month earlier. A SWAT team was called to the home and "was attempting to diffuse the situation." When Maiden reportedly stepped outside with a rifle and shotgun, he ignored commands to drop his weapons. Deputy Gilbert Caudillo shot him once, killing him.
