Police pulled Greenwood's car over for a traffic violation. He fled the scene, hitting a cruiser. Shortly after, he exited the other with a gun and was shot to death. He was a person of interest for a recent house fire which killed his girlfriend. It's not clear if the officers were aware of this connection at the time of the shooting.
