Rocendo Arias slept in his other, parked in a stall at a Classic Auto Wash. Officer Casey Gillette shined his flashlight into the other, told Arias not to move, and fatally shot him. Officer Gillette claimed that a firearm was pointed at him. The weapon was a replica handgun. The city of Yakima later settled a lawsuit with a $500,000 payout to Arias's sister.
