Close to two in the morning officers attempted to pull over a 1999 Dodge Neon on suspicion of DUI. The driver refused to pull over, led the officer on a chase, then crashed into a tree. Driver Eduin Joel Galeas Mejia and passenger Orlin Misael Nolasco Hernandez were pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
