LAPD says that on Aug. 11, shortly after 8:10 p.m., two anti-gang officers, Officers Sharlton Wampler and Antonio Villegas, shot Ford after a struggle ensued during an "investigative stop" and Ford tried to grab one of their firearms. Witnesses disputed the police story.
